Why so defensive? If you're making money on it, you can afford to just smile at the naysayers. If you're not making money on it, you can just quietly drop it. Either way, why encourage a public debate?

Hey, i like this idea, i have the macbook with an ethernet port, now most ethernet cords don't lock in the macbooks lock as pretty crap, but at the same time i use ethernet alot at home,

if you did manage to mag a magstay that locked into the ethernet port, would you also be able to supply me with an ethernet connection?

possibly making the ethernet part of your device active and having a small cable come from the back of it, with another ethernet female plug?

What a great idea - now my mac can be as vulnerable as the old macs and todays pc laptops.

Now instead of the cord disconnecting my laptop can be pulled to the ground when someone carelessly catches my power cord...

"....it always is plugged in at home. because it receives power 24/7, this kills the cells in the battery. in other words, as time goes on, the battery will be able to hold less charge)".

Not true I'm afraid. the Macbook Pro stops charging the battery when it 100% and doesn't put any current to the battery until it drops below 95%. So it's fine to keep it plugged in.

Also at peak power demand, should the machine need more than 85w, the processor will throttle down for lack of power. With the battery installed instantaneous peak demand can be met.

Lithium batteries don't decay the way old ones did.

Good luck.
