How To Identify Your iPad Model
If you’re buying an accessory for your iPad, you’ll likely need the iPad name and generation to confirm compatibility. If you’re selling your device, it’s standard to disclose the model number, generation, and name.
To find your iPad model number, look on the back of the device or follow these steps in iPadOS Settings. It begins with a letter followed by four numbers. Once you know your model number, you can quickly identify the generation and name by referencing our Identify Your iPad Model table.
From Backside of iPad:
The iPad model number can be located on the bottom backside of your iPad.
From Settings:
Open settings, tap General, then tap About. Look for the number in the top section. If the number you see has a slash “/“, that’s the part number (example, MY3K2LL/A). Tap the part number to reveal the model number.
